James Hall was the eighth child of John Hall a successful Glass Merchant.  James Hall was also a Glass Merchant.  He married Hannah Parker Maule, daughter of William Maule, a Nurseryman who owned a Nursery business in Bristol.  James Hall made a will in 1847 and died in 1850 leaving all his estate and effects to his beloved wife, Hannah.
